I think it's time for a little FACTUAL history lesson. Let me say UP FRONT that I am NOT and have NEVER been a Dubya supporter. I believe he will go down in United States history as the WORST POTUS this country has ever or will ever see.
That said, his remarks to the Israeli Knesset yesterday were not only FACTUALLY correct, his reference was not a slam at a Democrat or even BO, but rather a REPUBLICAN.
"Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," Bush said. "We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: "Lord, if I could only have talked to Hitler, all this might have been avoided..
In this supposed attack on a Dem and specifically BO: The sentence is in the PAST TENSE, as in when the Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939 an American Senator SAID. If anyone had bothered to google the "Lord, if I could..." quote, they would have seen that the American Senator Bush was referring to was in office in 1939 (not a Presidential primary candidate in 2008) and he was Sen. William Borah, an Idaho Republican at the time.
